Earth Heart, Inc. sponsors the 2012 BarkWorld Conference & Expo.

Earth Heart is pleased to sponsor the upcoming 2012 BarkWorld Conference & Expo on October 25-27, 2012, at The Westin Buckhead in Atlanta GA.

BarkWorld Conference & Expo is the only industry-wide educational conference designed specifically for pet social media and lifestyle discussions for pet lovers in all pet-related fields. It is a face-to-face forum offering comprehensive, critical knowledge to help grow pet businesses, build communities, and learn new media technology.

Denise Quashie created BarkWorld Expo in 2009 to fill a need. “I put my dog, Frankie Beans, on Twitter, and saw a large pet loving community that was using social media,” shared Quashie. “Because there wasn’t much education offered to this community at other pet expos and conferences, I wanted to build strong online support for the cause of sharing and educating pet lovers within social media.”

“We are pleased to be a part of this growing community dedicated to pet-related social media and networking,” said Vicki Rae Thorne, founder of Earth Heart. “BarkWorld offers important educational tools for people in pet-related businesses.”

Earth Heart products, including Canine Calm, Travel Calm, Guard Well and Buzz Guard, are just some of the items that will be raffled at the event. Visit earthheartinc.comfor more information on Earth Heart products, and barkworldexpo.com for information on the upcoming conference.

Canine Calm mist can help dogs have a calmer, safer time during Halloween activities.

Halloween offers families many opportunities for celebration. Whether you’re attending a Halloween dog party, taking your dog trick or treating, or just welcoming trick-or-treaters to your home, the busy activities, sights, sounds, and smells of the season can be stressful for the family dog.

Dogs can experience restlessness, drooling, panting, hyperactivity, and whimpering as a result of Halloween activities. Although there has been a growing trend among veterinarians to prescribe anti-anxiety medications for nervous dogs, there are natural solutions to help dogs cope with stress associated with Halloween activities.

Earth Heart offers one of those natural remedies. Canine Calm was created 12 years ago to help calm dogs while kenneled. Vicki Rae Thorne, Earth Heart’s founder, receives positive feedback from customers on a weekly basis about the effectiveness of Canine Calm.

“Over 90% of our customers have reported a soothing effect on their dogs during holiday excitement as well as thunderstorms, fireworks, travel, competition, adoptions and other unsettling times, “ says Thorne. “They appreciate a safe natural product that is easy to use, works quickly, and smells good!”

Help your dog stay calm during Halloween.  Order Canine Calm from the Earth Heart website or find a retail store near you.

Earth Heart owner, Vicki Rae Thorne, joins Women in the Pet Industry Network as industry thrives.

Vicki Rae Thorne of Dundee, Illinois, is working in the pet industry at a prime time. From 2004 to 2007, the pet industry grew an average of $10 million a year. The same rate is expected in 2012. In the United States, there are more than 80 million pet dogs and 93 million pet cats, according to the American Pet Products Association’s 2009-2010 National Pet Owners Survey.

Thorne, founder and owner of Earth Heart Inc., has developed a line of natural remedy mists to help dogs live happier, healthier lives. She joined Women in the Pet Industry (WIPIN), because of the chance to connect with women working in many kinds of pet businesses, and because she wants to help raise the level of professionalism in the industry and capitalize on its growth.

“WIPIN is poised to be a force in the pet industry, and I want to be a part of that cutting edge,” said Thorne. “WIPIN provides a forum for exchanging ideas and for getting the latest news about the pet industry.” Thorne added, “Being a part of WIPIN is like having a place of our own to gather. With WIPIN, pet women from all over the United States can connect as if they were at a business lunch.”

More than 120 career paths exist within the pet industry. WIPIN members include representatives from most. They include groomers, pet-sitters, vets, artists, trainers, breeders, pet store operators and product developers.

It’s an excellent fit,” said Schuh, “since 85 percent of pet parents are female.”
